Special Note:
There is a common mis-conception that dog boxes need to be insulated.
The reality is that METAL dog boxes need to be insulated for protection from HEAT in the SUMMER!!
Our light grey colored plastic dog boxes reflect UV rays from the sun and provide a natural reflection of heat in the summer. Try putting your hand on a metal object and a light colored plastic object in the same sunlight. They are both the same temperature but you cannot keep your hand on the metal object. (see our blog post for the scientific explaination)
Metal boxes can easily overheat or injure a dog in the summer sun so they HAVE to be insulated and that adds to the cost. Dogs and proper bedding generate plenty of heat in the winter so insulation is not necessary.
Best of all, our light grey color reflects sunlight and does not require insulation to keep your dogs cool in the summer!!
